Massica Bentahar

Massica Bentahar

Born in 1980, Massica developed an interest for photography with the birth of her nephew, making him the main subject of most her photos, trying to fabricate mémoires for him.

It is her relation to the passage of time that leads her to start photographing strangers, anonymous people in order to preserve, modestly, traces of a population at a given time.

Self-taught, she gives more importance to the human being then to the technical aspects of photography. In the streets she let’s herself get carried away by the idea of serendipity.
